Frequently Asked Questions

What is the KRADLE?

Temporary high-strength pipe support.

Why would I use it?

To set elevations prior to the install of the insulation.

What is the KRADLE made of?

Impact modified Polypropylene.

Does the KRADLE come in different colors?

Yes, we will make in your company colors. Our standard is high-visibility yellow.

Do I need different sizes?

No. The KRADLE™ is engineered with a living hinge that allows it to adapt to both smaller and larger pipe sizes.

On a clevis hanger:

  • Use 1 base for pipe sizes up to 6 inches

  • Use 2 bases for pipe sizes from 8 to 12 inches

The toppers are ½ inch thick and can be stacked as needed when insulation thickness changes throughout the project.

What is the install process?

Typically, the fitter, plumber, or ductwork tradesperson installs the KRADLE™ spacers, sets the elevation, and continues their work. The follow-up insulator can then remove the KRADLE™, install the correct insulation filler, and returns the KRADLE™ for reuse.

This eliminates the need for mechanical trades to install insulation inserts during pipe installation. Ordering inserts can involve long lead times, and pipe sizes and outer diameters often change based on material selection (copper versus IPS).

The KRADLE™ can be installed before the building is made watertight, offering a significant advantage over conventional pre-insulated supports, which present risks related to moisture intrusion, mold development, and potential support failure.

At no point should the follow-up insulator lower or “drop” the hanger. This creates major issues such as incorrect slope, insufficient rod remaining in the hanger, seismic noncompliance, and safety concerns.

Can I try them out?

We are confident the KRADLE™ will save you time, money, and rework, and that you will want to use them on every project.

We will send you a small trial pack free of charge.
